The First Church of Siren Book Two Mission To Earth Sirens Series 2 eBook Wig Nelson

Well, Wig Nelson has delivered again. I previously read "Sirens" and when I saw that he had this one coming out, I grabbed it up. Believe me, it did not disappoint. I literally did not get much sleep as I could not put this book down. It takes a lot to get my heart pounding....... and this one did it, big time. Wig Nelsons writing is up there with the best. I can see this one hitting the best sellers list very soon.

The First Church of Siren Book Two Mission To Earth Sirens Series 2 eBook Wig Nelson Reviews

I just finished reading The First Church of Siren,
and it was just as compelling and adventurous as the previous book Sirens.

If you didn't read Sirens, you could still read this one and jump right into the story.
They're both great reads and stand on their own.

Tension and release is a big part of the rhythm of life. That's what keeps what we experience interesting. The author Wig Nelson does a splendid job of capturing that universal law in this gripping sequel. When I was about half way through the book, I could not put it down.
This could easily be written into a screen play and made into a movie.

As with the first book, the chapters are set up so that most of the time there are multiple story lines going on within the chapter. Some on Earth, and some on the planet Siren. And each story, within the big story, is interesting, as the characters are too. The author keeps the pace moving along nicely with this style of writing, which works well for the reader.

Phodan from the planet Preculis, who orchestrates the transfer of the church, is one of my favorite characters in this novel, but they are all interesting in their own right. When Capt. Walker from earth meets up with Grand Master Phodan for the first time, things get off to a rocky start. But Phodan does some amazing things, and then commissions the Capt. to pilot a space ship for the sirens to come to earth and start their church. Then he starts to warm up to Phodan and they become close friends throughout the rest of the story. Walker's "wife" Carla and his dog Isabelle provide strong supporting roles. Isabelle is a great character too and one of my favorites. She truly is mans best friend.

On the planet Siren, the geography of the Monopole Valley and the creatures that inhabit the place are very fascinating and dangerous. The story line regarding the rescue of Durbah's mate Alex, and the little girl Mantah Samah from the Sirenian condor nest was intense and had me glued to the pages.

Back on earth, The Sons of Destiny provided for some suspenseful moments. That storyline kept my interest big time, and also provided a little humor as well. (Some of their lines had me in stitches). I was very curious on how all that was going to pan out. And I was pleased that they were dealt with accordingly by Phodan. But judging by the last paragraph of the book, I don't think we've seen the last of The Sons of Destiny.

There are many other characters and story lines in this novel that deserve mention. Some on a political level, and some spiritual/religious or just everyday life. These are just a few that stood out to me.

The book in a nutshell is a blend of Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Adventure. But it goes even deeper than that, with overtones of Christianity and Spirituality layered along the story.

All through out the book you'll find the "tension and release" as I mentioned earlier, displayed among the characters.

Fear, prejudice, pride & ignorance being at the root of most of the tension.
Then virtues of faith, love, loyalty and courage being the release and redemption.

This was an excellent read, and I highly recommend this book.
